A RAPID IMBEDDING TECHNIC FOR HISTOLOGIC SECTIONS EMPLOYING A WATER SOLUBLE WAX

[摘要] Modification of Carsen''s method for embedding prepns. of histological specimens with carbowax and carbowax esters. For routine histological section this method makes it possible to eliminate many of the steps used with the original method. The use of carbowaxes in place of paraffin eliminates the necessity for the dehydration and hydration of the tissues, but does not interfere with the cutting of thin sections or the achievement of excellent cytologic detail. Sections can readily be prepd. from fixed tissues with this technic in less than 5 hrs.
