METABOLISM OF HISTAMINE IN COLD-URTICARIA

[摘要] Urinary excretion of labelled histamine and histamine metabolites after intravenous injection of C14 histamine was studied in 2 patients with cold-urticaria (with and without symptoms) and in two healthy subjects. The fraction of the injected histamine that was excreted in unchanged form was the same (1-3%) whether the patients had cold-urticaria or not, and this fraction was the same as in healthy subjects. The greatest part of the unchanged histamine was excreted within 20 minutes after the injection. The pattern of histamine metabolites was the same in the 2 patients as in healthy subjects. 1-methyl imidazole-4-acetic acid was the major metabolite of the injected histamine.
