THE COURSE OF UNTREATED TINEA CAPITIS IN NEGRO CHILDREN
[摘要] Thirty-nine patients with tinea capitis caused by Microsporum audouini were observed virtually without medication. Two developed inflammatory reactions and cleared. The others remained non-inflammatory. Sixteen were culturally negative in less than 12 months from estimated onset, 6 in 12-18 months, and 2 in 30-40 months, all well before puberty. Six patients became clinically well but retained scattered fluorescent hairs for 2-4 years. The status of the other 7 patients is described. Eight patients with T. tonsurans infections, mostly mild or inapparent, also healed without medication.
