CUTANEOUS PHARMACOLOGY OF TETRACYCLINES

[摘要] Successful quantitation of tetracyclines in skin following oral administration of these antibiotics in therapeutic doses was acnieved. Neither tetracycline nor demethylchlortetracycline was detected in significant amounts in normal skin, even in the presence of considerable amounts of the antibiotic in the serum. Significant amounts of these antibiotics were found, however, in areas of dermatitis, even when none was detectable in adjacent normal skin. The apparently uninvolved skin of subjects with psoriasis, as well as the psoriatic lesions themselves, contained significant amounts of antibiotic, further evidence that the uninvolved skin of psoriatics is not normal.
