PERCUTANEOUS ABSORPTION OF HYDROCORTISONE-4-C-14 IN 2 HUMAN SUBJECTS
[摘要] Percutaneous absorption of hydro-cortisone through normal skin was established by detection of radioactivity in the urine following topical application of hydro-cortisone-4-C14 incorporated into an ointment base. Peak excretion of hydrocortisone occurred in the second 24 hours after application, but lower levels of radioactivity persisted throughout the 6-day experimental period. Following initial percutaneous absorption and a relatively high excretion rate, a depot of hydrocortisone forms, possibly in the skin, which persistently releases small amounts of the hormone over an extended period of time.
