Stretching the point: An association between the occurrence of striae and pelvic relaxation?

[摘要] Striae are seen in numerous clinical conditions, including pregnancy, and may be resultant from progressive, continuous skin stretching. Regardless of etiology, they appear as raised pink/ purple lesions, which mature leaving depressed silver 'scars'. In this issue, Salter et al. explore the possibility that occurrence of striae may predict pelvic relaxation ( prolapse of the pelvic organs) in later life.
