FINE STRUCTURE OF DIPHTHEROIDS OF ERYTHRASMA
[摘要] The fine structure of Corynebacterium minutissimum, the causative organism of erythrasma, was studied. Distinctive features of these cells include a tripartite cell wall, elaborate intracytoplasmic extensions of the plasma membrane, and electron-dense volutin inclusions. The diphtheroids seen in the stratum corneum of biopsy specimens taken from patients with erythrasma were no different from those cultured in the laboratory.
