INVITRO STUDIES OF ADRENAL STEROID METABOLISM IN THE SKIN

[摘要] By means of chromatographic studies on tissue incubates (from incubated fresh skin slices) the metabolism of cortisone and hydrocortisone was investigated. It was shown that hydrocortisone and cortisone are actively metabolized by the skin, and most of this metabolic change occurs in the corium. It seems that hydrocortisone was converted to a substance with cortisone chromotographic characteristics: cortisone was changed to a substance with hydrocortisone chromatographic characteristics. Neither of these products was identified chemically.
