GLUCOSE ENTRY INTO HUMAN EPIDERMIS - .2. PENETRATION OF GLUCOSE INTO HUMAN EPIDERMIS IN VITRO

[摘要] The intercellular space of the epidermis comprises approximately 15-18% of the total epidermal volume. Glucose not only fills this intercellular space but by a process of passive diffusion gains access to an additional 15-35% of the intracellular volume of the epidermis in a concentration equal to the blood glucose concentration or to all of the intracellular space at a concentration which is only 15-35% of the blood glucose concentration.
