FUNGISTATIC AGENTS FOR TREATMENT OF DERMATOPHYTOSIS

[摘要] Comparison of a great number of fungistatic agents reveals that undecylenic acid and di-nitro-cyclohexyl-phenol gave the highest percentage of satisfactory clinical results in athlete''s foot. 2-4-di-nitro-ortho-cyclohexyl-phenol and tri-chlorophenol were the most rapidly fungistatic of the agents tested, but were irritating in numerous cases. The lowest incidence of irritation occurred with undecylenic, propionic and benzoic acids, but the best product of all was undecylenic acid. None of numerous fungicides tested was immediately effective and none was ultimately successful in all cases.
