HISTOLOGIC CHANGES IN HUMAN SKIN FOLLOWING PSORALEN THERAPY
[摘要] Methoxsalen, 5-methoxypsoralen and crude coal tar were tested on human beings and biopsies taken at varying intervals of time after exposure to UV light. Histologically it was found that the changes produced by the 3 chemicals were indistinguishable. There were 3 general changes noted: (1) thickening of the stratum corneum and increased adherence of the stratum corneum with formation of a structure resembling the stratum lucidum, (2) increased pigment production and (3) the stratum corneum seemed to retain the pigment that reached it and a large amount of pigment was seen to be retained in the basal cell layer.
