RE-ASSOCIATION OF HEMOCYANINS FROM SUBUNIT MIXTURES
[摘要] The dissociation and re-association reactions of hemocyanin mixtures were studied by electron microscopy. The experiments were done, respectively, with a mixture of Helix pomatia and Loligo pealei hemocyanin (both belonging to the phylum Mollusca) and with a mixture of Helix pomatia (phylum Mollusca) and Limulus polyphemus (phylum Arthropoda) hemocyanins. After re-association, many of the original molecular structures were observed, toghether with a certain amount of smaller and irregularly aggregated material. The importance of these specific re-association reactions between hemocyanin subunits from different classes from different phyla is discussed.
