CONTROL OF T2-SPECIFIC RNA SYNTHESIS
[摘要] RNA molecules made in T2-infected Escherichia coli during different parts of latent period have heen compared with one another. Specific RNA-DNA complex formation has been used as a criterion for distinguishing unlike molecules. RNA isolated early in the latent period has been tested for its ability to inhibit complexformation by late RNA and vice versa. Analyses of complexes by equilibrium centrifugation in CsCl and by nitrocellulose absorption have led to similar conclusions. During theperiod 15 to 19 min after T2 infection, RNA molecules are copied from T2 DNA sequences which are not expressed in the first 6.5 min. All types of RNA made in the first 6.5 min remain present in the bacteria 19 min after infection.
