ISSUES RELATED TO MECHANICAL-PROPERTIES OF NEUTRON-IRRADIATED CERAMICS

[摘要] Ceramics will be used for a number of applications in fusion devices, where their dielectric properties, high strength, refractoriness, or low activation characteristics are required. In all cases mechanical properties must be adequate for the use intended, and the material must tolerate irradiation damage without undue degradation. In this paper the damage response of four candidate ceramics is reviewed, major issues are identified, and recommendations made for future studies.
