Hasse-Davenport curves, Gauss sums, and weight distributions of irreducible cyclic codes

[摘要] The weight distribution of irreducible cyclic codes is closely related to the distribution of the number of rational points in a family of Hasse-Davenport curves. Starting from this relation we compute the weight distribution of certain irreducible cyclic codes. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
