Base change for higher Stickelberger ideals

[摘要] To a finite abelian extension of algebraic number fields K/k with Galois group G, one can attach an nth Stickelberger ideal I(n) for each non-negative integer n. When k' is an intermediate field, we also consider the extension K/k', and show that the associated nth Stickelberger ideal I'(n) is contained in I(n). Consequently, if a conjecture on the annihilation of the Quillen K-group K-2n of the ring of integers O-K, by I(n) holds for K/k, then it also holds for K/k'. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
