FINITELY GENERATED NILPOTENT HC GROUPS ARE FREE ABELIAN

[摘要] A group G is hc if and only if every finite index subgroup of G is isomorphic to G. If G is finitely generated, nilpotent, and hc, then G is free abelian with rank equal to the minimal number of generators of G. A topological corollary is stated.
