On a sequence of polynomials

[摘要] In connection with studies of hierarchies of solutions to the Korteweg-de Vries equation, J. Sanders asked if gcd (p(k), p(l)) is trivial for all k, l, where p(k) = (x + 1)(k) - x(k) - 1. In this paper we propose a positive reply to this question. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
