DURATION OF MAGNETIC AFTEREFFECT
[摘要] An initially saturated array of uniaxial particles with log-normal distribution (parameter sigma) of activation volumes V relaxes in reversing field h at temperature T. We find that the time t(c) at which its net magnetization vanishes is kappa([V], h).t(c)(h, sigma) = ln 2.exp(gamma(sigma)Q(h)/T] where kappa([V]) is decay rate associated with the most probable volume and Q(h) is barrier height. The function gamma(sigma) > 0 if the particle magnetic moment M is proportional to V and gamma(sigma) < 0 if it is not. In comparison, the magnetic viscosity S(t(c)) is insensitive to the relation between M and V.
