PRODUCTION OF NA-22 TARGETS OR POSITRON SOURCES BY MEANS OF ION-IMPLANTATION
[摘要] The production and properties of high purity Na-22 samples prepared by means of implantation with an electromagnetic mass separator are reported. The obtained 0.7-3.0 mCi radioactive Na-22 sources were successfully used as accelerator targets to study for the first time the resonances in the astrophysically important Na-22(p, gamma)Mg-23 reaction. It is shown that the method allows production of samples up to 100 mCi/cm2 which due to their thickness of 10-50-mu-g/cm2 also are ideally suited as positron sources.
