Second harmonic generation study of quantum well states in thin noble metal overlayer films
[摘要] The nonlinear optical response of a noble metal overlayer on top of a magnetic film shows an oscillatory behaviour dominating the total second harmonic output. The oscillation periods are twice as large as those observed with linear Kerr effect measurements. Spectroscopic studies show that the oscillatory part of the signals comes from the intraband transitions in the overlayer metal.
