DETERMINATION OF ENANTIOMERIC PURITY OF ALCOHOLS USING ACHIRAL DIPHENYLDICHLOROSILANE

[摘要] Diphenyldichlorosilane was used as a dimerization agent to convert enantiomeric alcohols to a mixture of meso and dl diastereomeric silyl acetals. The meso and dl compounds can be distinguished by C-13 NMR method and their ratio can be used to evaluate the optical purity of the alcohols.
