Message from the editor-in-chief

[摘要] Following a longstanding tradition, I address you as Editor-in-Charge at the end of a yearin which efforts in fusion research have further intensified, and fusion has confirmed to be avehicle for a global collaboration and a paradigm of peaceful use of science and technologyin view of sustainable development.The construction of ITER is continuing at full speed, with major components beingassembled on site, in the first steps of a very complex, crucial integration process. After tenyears of the ITER Treaty, and of the establishment of the Domestic Agencies in the different Parties, half of the infrastructure is now built, an important milestone and a confirmationthat the project culture introduced in the past few years is bearing fruit.Preparation for the experimentation on ITER has also started. Our Journal intends toaccompany these developments throughout, with content dedicated to the revised ITERPhysics Basis and to the ITER Research Plan.
