Block: Component of a Multimodal Approach to Taming the Stress Response in Pheochromocytoma Resection

[摘要] Resection of pheochromocytoma has great potential forintraoperative hemodynamic swings. Targeting a multimodalapproach to counter catecholamine surge is the goal ofanesthesia. Taking a cue from the vast application oftransversus abdominis plane block (TAP) in abdominal andsurgeries, we hypothesized that utilizing preemptiveTAPblockwould not only provide postoperative analgesia in laparoscopicadrenalectomy but would also suppressthe stressresponse andprovide intraoperative analgesia reducing the requirement ofanesthetics and opioids.
