The Effect of Recombinant Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)-121 Towards Placenta Growth Factor Serum Levels in Female Mice (Mus Musculus) with Preeclampsia Model
[摘要] Background: Preeclampsia is a multi systemic disease which recognized by the development of hypertension after 20 weeks of gestation with the presence of proteinuria or anysigns indicative of target organ injury. Thecorrect diagnosis and classification of thedisease are essential since the therapies areunique in each class. Moreover, the angiogenicfactors claims to play a significant role in theendothelial injury which plays as an etiology forpreeclampsia. Thus, this study aimed to analyzethe differences between angiogenic factors inpregnancy mice with preeclampsia models afteradministration of VEGF-121.Subjects and Method: Subject of the studywere swiss’s strains of pregnancy mice (Musmusculus) which divided into three groups thatconsist of 10 subject of study in each group.Subjects for this research were recruitedbetween March and May 2015 in BiomedicalLaboratory of The Faculty of VeterinaryMedicine, Universitas Airlangga as part of across sectional study designed for analyticalexperimental. The angiogenic factor whichmeasured was PIGF serum levels with ELISAmethod and only group of pregnant mice withpreeclampsia model which administred withinjection of VEGF-121.Results: This study was conducted of 30 maleand 30 female Mus musculus with homogeneous characteristic in terms of age, averagebody weight and have never been pregnantbefore. The differences in PIGF serum levelsbetween three observed group are significant(p=0.035).Conclusion: Administration of VEGF-121increased the PlGF serum levels in pregnantmice with preeclampsia model. Thus, the administration of VEGF-121 improves the conditionof endothelial damage in preeclampsia with anincrease in PlGF levels.
