The ‘French paradox’ may not be a paradox after all – but for what reason?
[摘要] Although the popularity of cementless femoral stem fixation continues to rise, cementedfemoral fixation still serves as the benchmark, with the risk of mechanical failure of fixationhaving shown to be negligible in the firstdecade,1,2 and periprosthetic fracture havingbeen identified as the main cause for revisionin the second decade after implantation.3There is universal agreement that implementation of a modern cementing technique is acondition sine qua non, and the quality ofcementing technique and the establishmentof optimal cement interdigitation and nondeficient cement mantle have been identifiedto be the most predictive factors for favourable long-term outcome.
