Remarkable events in oncohematology 2022
[摘要] Th is brief note concerns my refl ections on the internationalmeetings which I had the pleasure to attend in 2022, as wellas my opinion on the current advances in hematooncology.Attending the high-profi le conferences continued to be important in the last year. Particularly stimulating for me isalways the congress of the American Society of Hematology(ASH), which took place last December in New Orleans. Th emost important reasons for my participation this time weremy eff orts to resume the collaboration of international participants in the European LeukemiaNet (ELN) aft er a 2-yearCorona break by organizing the traditional ELN breakfastsymposium on Sunday mornings, as well as preparing thenew ELN recommendations for treating chronic myeloid leukemia. I was almost overwhelmed by the number of attendees, partly a rebound eff ect aft er the corona break, I am sure, but also a confi rmation of my eff orts in collaborative researchto promote cure leukemias. Giovanni Martinelli from Meldola reported of a new project with ELN participation for thetherapy of particularly unfavorable cases with refractory andrelapsed acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML), which had justbeen recommended for funding by the EU. Colleagues fromcountries not qualifying for EU-support such as UK or Russiamay be able to participate through ELN.
