The effect of negative pressure wound therapy use after Cesarean section

[摘要] The aim of the study was to identifywhether negative pressure woundtherapy reduced the incidence ofsurgical site infections after a cesareansection.MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed allcesarean sections performed at TheUniversity of Iowa from January 2018 toJanuary 2021. Demographic informationwas collected including age, BMI, preexisting or gestational diabetes, andpreoperative diagnosis ofchorioamnionitis. Incidence and type ofsurgical site infection based on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)National Healthcare Safety Network(NHSN) criteria was collected.
