Isolation of Coxsackievirus A21 from Patients with Acute Respiratory Infection in Yamagata, Japan in 2019
[摘要] Human enteroviruses (HEVs) belong to the genusEnterovirus and family Picornaviridae.They areclassified into four different species—HEV-A,HEV-B,HEV-C, and HEV-D (1). Coxsackievirus A21 (cv-A21) is a member of the species HEV-C and has beendetected in patients with mild respiratory infectionsand poliomyelitis/acute flaccid paralysis ( 1-5).However,reports of CV-A21 detection have beenquite limited globally (2-6).According to the NationalEpidemiological Surveillance of Infectious Diseases(NESID) system (https://nesid4g.mhlw.hq.admix.go.jp/lavailable for limited members, accessed September 26,2019),only 25 cases were reported in Japan between1980 and 2018.
