Synthesis of 6-alkylsulfanyl-1,4-dihydropyridines as potential multidrug resistance modulators

[摘要] 6-Alkylsulfanyl-1,4-dihydropyridines 5 bearing methoxyphenyl groups at various positions have been prepared by three different approaches. Multidrug resistance modulating (P-glycoprotein and multidrug resistance protein-1 inhibition) activity of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives 5 is comparable to that of verapamil.
