Innovations in dentistry

[摘要] Dentistry in general and dental technology in particular is at its brim for the betterment of human kind. Where preventive and public health strategies fail, advances in technology are helping dentists make treatment quicker, safer, and less invasive. Innovations such as electrically accelerated and enhanced remineralization means, it is now theoretically possible to repair teeth and fill teeth without a need to drill. The biggest evolution and innovation in all forms of dentistry is of digital technology and computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems. These systems now offer the unique opportunity to avoid traditional analog impressions, including the usual impression materials. This opportunity not only avoids time and handling limitations but with newer intraoral scanners also gives accurate impressions without generating waste because of impression materials and plaster. Moreover, overall experience with intraoral scanner is very pleasant to patient as compared to taking impression.
