Study the anti-leukotrienic effect of watery suspension of Nigella sativa Linn. seeds in mice
[摘要] The present study was designed to investigate the anti-inflammatory properties of the watery suspension of powdered Nigella sativa seeds. This action was demonstrated by anti-leukotrienic activity in skin of mice. Leukotrien inhibition was reflected by reduction in skin scratching numbers, reduction the increment in skin thickness and diminution of histopathological changes at the site of leukotriene B4 injection.. Reduction magnitudes of these parameters after Nigella seeds suspension administration approximated those observed in mice treated orally with dexamethasone ,intradermally preinjected with Leukotriene B4. Reduction in Leukotriene activity led to reduction of inflammatory magnitude due to direct effect of Nigella sativa on Leukotriene and probably on other chemical mediators.
