Remote control of T h 17 responses: The lung-CNS axis during EAE
[摘要] Migration of T cells throughout the body is a fascinating and highly regulated process. Their lineage commitment depends on the tissue microenvironment, which is shaped by dendritic, epithelial, or stromal cells and particularly by myeloid cells. In this issue, Glenn et al. studied the cellular interplay between myeloid cells and T cells in the murine model of multiple sclerosis (MS), in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). The authors found a licensing mechanism of encephalitogenic Th17 cells within the lung by myeloid cells on its journey to the CNS.
