Molecular understanding of pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis

[摘要] Osteoporosis is a serious health concern in the global community. In aged societies such as Japan and Italy, an increasing number of people are suffering from osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures such as vertebral fractures and hip fractures. Approximately 75 million people are estimated to have osteoporosis in the United States (US), Europe and Japan,1,2 and the burden of osteoporosis with its associated morbidity and mortality issues due to fractures has become a critical socioeconomic problem.
