The role of orthobiologics in foot and ankle surgery: Allogenic bone grafts and bone graft substitutes
[摘要] Orthobiologics are biological substances that are used therapeutically for their positive effects on healing skeletal and soft-tissue injuries. The use of such biological agents in the field of orthopaedic surgery has been drawing increasing attention over the past decade, particularly as adjuncts in promoting the healing of bone, cartilage, ligament and tendon injuries. The principal benefits of using orthobiologics are twofold – first, to reduce the need for surgery in treating musculoskeletal injuries; and secondly, to augment the effectiveness of existing orthopaedic implants and surgical techniques.
