THE MILLENNIALS AND THE NEW ERA OF BULLYING IN INDONESIA

[摘要] The Millennials or Generation Y, bornbetween 1980 and 1995, are most likelycharacterized as technology savvy with theInternet as the oxygen of their lives(Gunawan, 2016). This generation growswith social medias such as Facebook,Twitter, Instagram, and online chattingapplication such as Line, WhatsApp, andSnapchat as their way to present theiridentities and share information. They arealso characterized as the generation thattends to give opinions, comments, critiques,and recommendations like those who knoweverything without paying attention towhom they are talking to, either to elderly,teachers or respectful persons. This,however, is often considered as a very rudeand inappropriate communication byGeneration X and Baby Boomers (Hartman& Mccambridge, 2011).
