Public Health Tourism in Indonesia. Is it possible?

[摘要] Medical tourism has grownsignificantly in Southeast Asia, especiallyin Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.1Many people travel to these countries tosearch an affordable and convenient healthcare. While Indonesia, in contrast, may notbe a destination country for medicaltourism, but rather to be the source ofpatients for its neighbors, and the numberof patients in Indonesia would besignificantly increased. 2 In another word,when other countries increase theirservices for medical tourism, Indonesiastill works in building infrastructure ofhealth care system with lack of medicaldoctors in the country. It seems thatIndonesia is far for bringing the trend ofmedical tourism comparing with othercountries.
