Assessment of Adaptogenic Potential of Tecoma stans

[摘要] Background: In the traditional therapeutic method, different parts of Tecoma stans have been mentioned to be helpful in a variety of neurological diseases.Aim: The current research was designed to screen adaptogenic potential of flower extract of Tecoma stans.Methods: Anoxia, drowning and immobilization stress models.Results: The graded doses of methanolic extract of Tecoma stans flower revealed significant adaptogenic activity. Rats pretreated for ten days with methanolic extract of Tecoma stans flower exhibited significant improvement in all the biochemical parameters.Conclusion: The extract of Tecoma stans flowers showed significant antistress activity in all the three animal models.
