Therapeutic potential of cinnamon for neurologicaldisorders: A mini-review

[摘要] An increasing amount of evidence suggests that cinnamon, due to its rich source of polyphenol content,may exert antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, hence could be used in the treatment of varietyof diseases. in this regard, many studies explored the effects of cinnamon and its bioactive components(coumarin, cinnamic acid, cinnamaldehyde and type A procyanidin polymers) on various neurologicaldiseases including Parkinson’s disease, neuroinflammation, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, Alzheimer’sdisease, migraine, and hyperactivity. The present study attempts to review available data concerningthe therapeutic potential of cinnamon and its derivatives in neurological disorders.
