Commentary: Toward the creation of a functional cardiac patch for repair and regeneration
[摘要] Dilated ischemic cardiomyopathy following coronary occlusion is a major clinical problem leading to significant mortality.1 Cardiac surgical advances have made it possible to restore functionality in a dilated ventricle through altering its shape via surgical ventricular restoration.2 This procedure involves employing a synthetic or biomaterial patch to remodel the ventricle, yielding systolic functional improvement.3,4 However, a synthetic nonelastic patch may decrease diastolic compliance,5 prompting the search for more effective biomaterials, which has progressed substantially.
