Optimized ultra-high-performance concrete horizontally curved bridge superstructure

[摘要] Curved bridge alignments are common in complex interchanges. According to a 1991 StructuralStability Research Council survey,1 25% of bridgesin the United States are curved bridges. They have gainedpopularity since the early 1960s because they can fit withinthe limited space of congested urban areas and are aesthetically appealing. Moreover, a curved bridge allows for longerspans, which eliminates part of the substructure. There areseveral options for superstructure selection of curved bridges: steel I-girders, steel tub girders, cast-in-place concretebox girders, and precast concrete segmental box girders.
