[摘要] The authors would like to thank for the opportunity to replyto the Letter to the Editor concerning the article ‘’Longterm outcome of redo discectomy for recurrent lumbar discherniations’’.The authors fully share the reader’s opinion that, being this aretrospective study with a limited sample, care should be takenregarding generalization of the results. As stated in the discussion section, further research is needed to validate these results.A prospective study should be performed in a larger sample,with randomization and close follow-up of the patients.
