In Reply: Familial hypercholesterolemia: Clarifications

[摘要] To the Editor: The article by Shah and colleagues1 is anexcellent review of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH)and highlights an underdiagnosed condition on whichclinicians can make a signifi cant impact. I would liketo clarify two points:First, as the authors describe, tendon xanthoma ismostly pathognomonic for FH. Xanthelasma, however, is nonspecifi c for this condition and does notappear in any of the diagnostic criteria.
