Gastroenteritis gone rogue

[摘要] A 56-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with a 2-day history of vomiting. She reported vomiting almost immediately after eating and described her emesis as nonbilious and nonbloody. These symptoms were associated with mild, central, intermittent abdominal pain, generalized weakness, and nonbloody, nonmucoid diarrhea. She described 5 episodes of watery stools per day. She said she had no fever, recent travel, previous similar episodes, or sick contacts. Her symptoms were thought to be consistent with infectious gastroenteritis.
