Severe chemical pneumonitis from tetrahydrocannabinol ‘vaping’ and ‘dabbing’
[摘要] A 19-year-old woman with a history of mild intermittent asthma and regular tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) consumption by “vaping” and “dabbing” (inhaling vaporized, highly concentrated THC oil) presented with several days of fevers, dyspnea, and productive cough. She was febrile, tachycardic, and tachypneic. Laboratory testing revealed an elevated white blood cell count of 15.0 × 109/L (reference range 4.4–10.0 × 109/L) and a pro-calcitonin level of 0.3 ng/mL (reference range 0.1–0.5 ng/mL). Her initial chest radiograph was unremarkable.
