Histopathology Quiz

[摘要] A 32 year old woman with amenorrhoea ofnine weeks, presented with bleeding pervaginum. She subsequently developed massiveper rectal bleeding (haematochezia) whileawaiting evacuation of products of conceptionwhich she passed spontaneously. No obviouscoagulopathy was detected. The upper andlower gastrointestinal endoscopies werenormal. A CT scan of the abdomen performedto exclude a small bowel cause for the bleedingwas also normal. As CT angiography or red cellscans were not available laparoscopy wasperformed and a 10X10X5 mm polypoid,haemorrhagic lesion in the serosa of the midjejunum was found with multiple smallerlesions. The lesion was exteriorized and awedge resection performed. Multiple smallerlesions seen on the serosal surface of the smallbowel were also biopsied. There was nofurther bleeding following surgery.
