A clinical audit on pap smears reported in a tertiary care centre in Sri Lanka
[摘要] Cervical cancer is the most commongynecological cancer worldwide, withdeveloping countries bearing adisproportionately high disease burden(1). This is the second most commoncancer among Sri Lankan women.According to the World HealthOrganization (WHO) there were 604,127new cases of cervical carcinomadiagnosed worldwide in the year 2020,while 341,831 deaths were reportedfollowing the diagnosis of cervical cancer(2). Studies have shown that earlydetection and treatment can reducemorbidity and mortality by more than 70%.
