Yonder: Female genital mutilation, hand hygiene monitoring, supervised consumption services, and caring masculinities

[摘要] FGM. Female genital mutilation (FGM) isknown to impose lifelong and sometimesdevastating effects on the health of womenexposed to it. With growing migration levels,it has become a truly global issue. A recentAustralian study reported on the Australianprimary healthcare providers’ experiencesof caring for women living with FGM,finding that they had only basic knowledgeof FGM with little or no experience withthe management, support, and care ofaffected women in Australia.1 Amidst acomprehensive and thoughtful body ofrecommendations, the authors especiallyhighlight the need for infrastructure andresources for providing culturally sensitivecare to this target population in order toincrease trustworthiness.
