On not being a Time Lord

[摘要] The irony of being a Doctor Who fan, isthat the fantasy of travelling through timein a TARDIS shows me how much we arecontrolled by time in real life. It’s obviousthat each of us only gets a specific allocationof hours, minutes, and seconds each day,and no amount of advocacy can increasethis. In this way, time is a uniquely allocatedresource. Yes, we try to fool ourselves thatwe have some control over this flow — fromtime management courses to stories abouttime travel — but somehow we’ve neverheld back the arrival of 6 o’clock.
