Polygenic risk scores: improving the prediction of future disease or added complexity?
[摘要] INTRODUCTION ‘Genomic prevention’ is a key pillar of the UK government’s current 10-year genomics strategy, and polygenic risk scores (PRS) have been highlighted as an exciting area of development.1 PRS quantifies the cumulative effects of multiple common genetic variants in an individual; this can be used to predict and stratify disease predisposition for common complex conditions such as cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, and cancer.
